Sorry I have been a little MIA lately. Finals tend to take over my life for a few weeks every single quarter.
Anyway, God has put something on my heart lately that I wanted to share with you.
I find it so funny that God teaches me the most through the little things. Seriously. Recently, He worked through an ordinary circumstance of life— I had to clean my room. Yes, we were going to have visitors in a few days, and so the disarray of my room needed to be put in some sort of order. Resigned, I set about the task.
The strange thing I have found is that my room gets messier while it is getting cleaner. Let me explain. In order for me to actually put away the bits of junk all over my room, I have to bring them all out and separate them according to where they belong. So if you were to enter my room while I was cleaning it, it would probably look worse than it had originally. But it always ends up much cleaner.
That same week (which also happened to be finals week), we experienced a lot of huge rainstorms in our area, and also a good amount of sunshine. It was the oddest thing. Every morning I woke up to looming thunder clouds and buckets of rain falling on my head. As soon as I emerged from class in the afternoon, however, the sun was shining bright and the birds were singing.
It has to become more messy in order to be cleaned. It has to rain and storm before the sunshine.
Wow, God is so good. In the midst of a week when I was struggling not only with school and exams, but with character issues, God showed me his forever promise— that his plan will prevail. We serve a mighty God and none of the struggles of this present time can change that.
More than that, I realized that my struggles now are really nothing in light of eternity. So I will trust in the almighty God and know that his love will carry me, no matter what happens on this imperfect earth.
